Act Against Food Insecurity and Support Sustainable Agriculture
In Belgium, 1 in 5 people lives in poverty, meaning over 600,000 people rely on food aid every year. In Brussels, this includes more than 90,000 people, though many others do not ask for help due to stigma or just being above the eligibility thresholds.
The GASAP Network is launching the “Solidarity Baskets of Fresh Produce” campaign to address food inequalities while supporting environmentally friendly agriculture.
Our Approach: Food for Everyone
With your help, we can:
Provide bio-local vegetable baskets to families facing food insecurity.
Offer workshops and farm visits to empower families and improve their food independence.
Support local farmers, many of whom face precarious economic conditions, to ensure sustainable practices.
By contributing, you help create a system that pays producers fairly while ensuring access to healthy food for all.
Why is this Urgent?
For many families, food becomes a budget they cut to pay for other essentials, at the expense of their health. Parents often sacrifice their own meals to feed their children. Meanwhile, small-scale farmers struggle to maintain sustainable practices under the pressure of industrial competition.
Toward a Resilient and Fair Food System
Our campaign goes beyond providing food:
It promotes durable, equitable, and accessible nutrition for all.
It supports small-scale farmers who protect biodiversity and combat climate change.
It addresses systemic food challenges, balancing social, economic, and environmental needs.
